In October 2025, the Association of Earth Science Editors awarded to AGS the inaugural Outstanding Education and Outreach Materials Award, which serves as recognition for significant contributions in published works and communication of Earth Science. It was awarded for the “Maritimes Map App”, which was recognized as “an outstanding example of outreach materials to the general public and promotion of the field of Earth Sciences”.
